3rd Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Conference Held in Uganda

The Ministry of Health, through its Department of Health Promotion and Education, hosted the 3rd Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Conference from October 16th to 18th, 2024, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. Under the theme, "Building Resilient Health Systems for Disease Prevention through Strengthening Community Health Workers," the conference brought together leaders, policymakers, and health experts to deliberate on the future of disease prevention and health promotion in Uganda. The three-day event aimed at identifying innovative strategies, leveraging digital transformations, fostering sustainable practices, and strengthening partnerships to bolster Uganda's health systems. The focus on Community Health Workers (CHWs) underscored their essential role in bridging the gap between healthcare facilities and underserved communities.
