Kyenjojo District Commissions 332 Community Health Extension Workers

Kyenjojo, 11th February 2025 – The Ministry of Health has taken a significant step towards improving community health in Kyenjojo District by commissioning 332 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs). This initiative aims to enhance health promotion, education, and service delivery at the grassroots level. The newly appointed CHEWs have undergone an intensive four-month classroom training followed by two months of experiential learning at designated health facilities within the district. To facilitate their work, they have been equipped with bicycles for easy mobility, smartphones and tablets for real-time data entry, medicine boxes for household-level treatment, and bags to carry essential tools.
